When Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris saw those NFLPA report cards with multiple failing grades, including an F-, he responded he wasn’t an “F- guy.”
Of course, many of Washington’s failings pre-date the Harris Ownership Group, and all came before new GM Adam Peters, coach Dan Quinn, and his staff. From the hiring of Eugene Shen in October to serve as Washington’s vice president of football strategy to the recent hirings of Ryan Juarez as director of rehabilitation and James Randall Sr. as the team’s senior physical therapist/assistant athletic trainer, Harris has made it clear the Commanders will do everything to reach the upper echelon of the NFL.
On Monday, Harris made another big move, hiring Dave Gardi as Washington’s new senior vice president of football initiatives. Gardi comes to the Commanders from the NFL league office, where he has spent the past 21 years.
Gardi comes to Washington with plenty of respect around the NFL. After his hiring was announced, we took to Twitter to see some of the reactions. Everyone loves the move.
