The Staples Center is officially changing its name, though we’re banking on many people just sticking with what the arena has been known by for more than 20 years.
For Vanessa Bryant though, the building isn’t just the Staples Center and it probably won’t ever be Crypto.com Arena. Instead, she’ll forever associate the Los Angeles Lakers‘ home base with her late husband Kobe.
On her Instagram story today, Vanessa posted a picture of the Staples Center exterior with an image of Kobe on it.
“Forever known as ‘The House That Kobe Built,’” she wrote.

Crypto.com is reportedly paying $700 million for the naming rights to the arena, according to ESPN. The new deal will go into effect on Christmas Day.
It is believed to be the largest naming rights deal in United States history. Currently, the Staples Center hosts the Lakers, Clippers, Los Angeles Kings and Los Angeles Sparks.
