Video: Tom Brady’s Reaction To Getting Booed Goes Viral

August 10, 2021 by The Spun Leave a Comment

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.

Legendary NFL quarterback Peyton Manning was officially inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame over the weekend, marking the crowning achievement of his days spent on the field. Unsurprisingly, the former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos quarterback also treated fans to a great speech.

One of the highlights came when Manning brought up his long-time rival Tom Brady. He joked about what would happen when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback was finally enshrined in Canton.

“Next year, acceptance speeches will probably shrink to four minutes. And speaking of rivals, my good friend Tom Brady is here tonight,” Manning said. “By the time he’s inducted in his first year of eligibility in 2035, he’ll only have time to post his acceptance speech to his Instagram account.”

In the middle of his joke about his friend, boos rang out from around the ceremony at the mention of Brady’s name. In the pro-Manning crowd, many weren’t too happy to see the man that had bested the five-time MVP on more than one occasion in the AFC playoffs.

Brady handled the situation well though. He turned back to the bulk of the crowd and video caught him mouthing the words “What’s up with that? What’d I do wrong?” as the boos rained down around him during Manning’s speech.

Brady never actually did anything wrong but he did beat Manning 11 times head-to-head and lost only six games. The two often seemed to meet in the playoffs, making for some memorable moments in NFL history.

Despite their contentious battles on the field, the two quarterbacks developed a strong relationship over the years, as evidenced by Brady’s attendance at the ceremony of the weekend. Each player recognized the greatness of the other and they’ll both be remembered as some of the best to ever throw a football.

Theoretically, it shouldn’t be long until Brady enters the Hall of Fame himself. Manning will surely be in attendance when the Buccaneers quarterback receives the honor.
