On Sunday, Washington defeated the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte in quarterback Cam Newton’s first start back in a Carolina uniform.
On Sunday, Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke outperformed Newton, completing 16 of 22 passes for 203 yards and three touchdowns. It wasn’t like Newton was bad; he wasn’t. Heinicke was simply better.
