Less than a week ago, the United States took home a gold medal in the men’s golf competition when Xander Schauffele made a clutch par on No. 18 to win by one shot.
A few days later, the United States won its second gold medal when golfing superstar Nelly Korda also found a clutch par on No. 18. She too, took the victory by one shot over Mone Inami of Japan and Lydia Ko of New Zealand.
It was an incredible performance for Korda, who looked to be falling apart on the front nine. After carding a double-bogey on No. 7, she responded with three straight birdies to right the ship.
After helping the United States sweep the gold medal in both golf competitions, Schauffele had a message for Korda.
“Nailed the pose Nelly Korda,” he said. “Another for the red, white and blue!”

Korda is just 23 years old, but already made history this summer. She became the first player, man or woman, to win a major and the Olympic gold medal in the same year.
She won the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in June.
Korda sat in second place after the opening round of the Olympics. However she catapulted herself into a dominant lead by shooting a 62 in the second round. All she needed to do was hang on after that and she walked out with a gold medal.
Congratulations to both Xander and Nelly!
